HFF - Baudesaster

Der Erweiterungsbau des Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Hauses wurde 2010 begonnen und sollte bis 2012 für 190 Millionen Euro fertiggestellt werden. 2012 entdeckte man erste grobe Baufehler, die bis 2015 beseitigt werden sollten. Als man weitere Baumängel an der Bodenplatte entdeckte, wurde der Termin auf 2017 verschoben. 2016 wurde klar, dass eine Nutzung des Gebäudes 'nicht vor 2020' möglich sei. Im Februar 2020 erkannte man, dass das Blockheizkraftwerk ersetzt werden muss, weil es mittlerweile nicht mehr den verschärften Umweltschutzauflagen genügt. Die Baukosten stiegen bis jetzt auf 247 Millionen Euro, open end!

Auch in diesem Bild gibt es einige sehr unterschiedliche Zäune (Notizen im Bild), vom Flatterband bis zu Stacheldraht.

Sadly, this is the sort of tale that is quite common in England as well..........bad planning, dodgy contracts, incompetent officials............and who pays? Us, the public..!!

Such a shame as this is quite any attractive building..........I like the combination of straight lines and curves. Nicely captured Wilhelm.

Ja, es ist ein attraktives Gebäude und auch das bestellte Kunstwerk (oberhalb der Treppe) ist schon längst fertig. Leider müssen die Mehrkosten durch Steuergelder gedeckt werden.
Dies ist nicht das einzige Großprojekt, das aus dem Ruder läuft. Der neue Flughafen von Berlin BER sollte 2011 in Betrieb genommen werden. Er wird erst in diesem Jahr eröffnet. Die Baukosten stiegen von 2,4 Millarden auf über 7 Milliarden! Aber Steuergelder sind genug vorhanden. Man kann ja im Bildungssystem und den Sozialausgaben sparen, oder die Steuern erhöhen :-(

Our latest high speed rail link which is being constructed at the moment to link London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, started in 2010 with an expected budget of between £30 and £36 billion. At the moment they're saying that costs will now be between £80 and £89 billion - and that's even before the line is anywhere near finished. The estimated completion date is between 2029 and 2035, so I'm guessing the budget will rise even more! How we're going to pay for it after the depression caused by this pandemic I have no idea and I don't think our Government does either.
