Visiting millipede

This Polydesmid Millipede recently came visiting. Second shot in the PiP. Touching them can cause skin irritation, so I just took photos. :-)

Oh my! What a beauty!! Love the colors and your pictures are super too. I have always been fascinated by these animals, and enjoy watching these herbivores walk along with their multitude of legs. Such a difference from their fast-moving, predatory cousins, the centipede. I remember as a little kid learning that both can be toxic: a centipede from its bite, a millipede from the irritant on its surface. I love admiring from a distance and am always happy to carry them outside if I find them inside!

The top 3 results in my image search will show you a few I've captured with my camera! :) www.ipernity.com/search/photo?w=290645&q=centipede
