Peace Cathedral

The 'Peace Cathedral' in Bodo was built in 1956 to replace a church destroyed (with most of Bodo) during WW2. While it may look unexciting in concrete (see PiP 1), the interior is quite attractive (Pip 2). My visit was enhanced by a lovely organ recital (sorry, I didn't get a shot of the organ). I also was intrigued by the large woven rugs on the walls (PiP 2).

Explored.

Family health issues will limit my involvement on ipernity, so my apologies if I do not respond to your comments or visit your images - I shall try to do so as far as possible.

Very simple. The clock tower seems disconnected from the main body of the church. Ah yes. I can see that it is from the first PiP.

the style I like so much actually . . . Coventry Cathedral destroyed virtually in WW2 was rebuilt . . and have to say I do not care for it at all . . . it is characterless except for the stained glass windows which are beautiful . . . but externally . . . no . . :) but this one is superb . . .
