Over Afghanistan

Near Kabul at 12000 M. Our route passed over India and Pakistan near Kashmir, this airspace since closed.

Explored.

ADDENDUM: I'm using only my phone on this trip and, though the ipernity app allows me to post images, I find I am unable to add them to groups or to interact with others' images or comments. I've just briefly logged on to a 'real' computer, so please excuse me for not responding while away.

A great mountain landscape! You have been lucky to escape before the closures:-) I once flew over Afghanistan in the dark, it felt very spooky.

Isn't this just breathtaking!!! What an incredible sight. I love looking out of a plane window and contemplating how insignificant we all are, and what a glorious planet we live on. And then I spiral off into thoughts of the insignificant speck our planet is...our galaxy...in this ever-expanding, inconceivably enormous universe we are so privileged to live in. A wonder.

Many thanks, everyone, for your kind comments on this image. In few days we return home, though this time likely not over Pakistan and Afghanistan (following the recent border problems). I'm adding a few comments such as this with a borrowed computer. :-)
