we have some here that look like that ...spooky.......... i never hurt spiders ..

These are only small and live in the garden! Some kind of hunting spider I believe. At some point the females will be carrying their egg sacs with them. This one was sunning itself on an old pot - they seem to like to do that in sunny parts of the garden! :-)
