#36 A colourful building

Soon after the Scavenger Hunt challenge became announced at The Sunday Challenge group, I searched for colorful buildings around Tampere region. On one YLE News article I then spotted the ideal target.

After several weeks I finally got time to visit the place. The weather and light were ideal for the subject. I first thought the building would be on the other side of the street, and I would have to shoot against the light. But it turned out the building was bathing in the bright spring light.

I was first going to take pictures only with my Lumix camera, but then few minutes before the bus to take me home arrived, I took two shots with the camera phone. Then on my way home, I once again played with Mirror Lab Android app and got this. I liked what I saw, and the traffic sign then turned out as a wonderful bonus!

Several years ago I used to be almost fanatic about trying to reach if not perfect realism on my photos, but at least something that could be called as "plausible". But then my path has lead me to explore surrealism. To create imaginative pictures have become more important than to document the reality.

Something like that =D

And I was disappointing to find out it was only one end of the building painted like that. Enough to get a cool picture though! =)

This is pretty to look at, as well as creative! Your last paragraph is excellent, and I agree.

I think photography would not be a true art form if it would only try to document and capture the reality.

The phone camera is great for a lot of shots & quick for the ready.......I used to feel guilty ( stupid really ) using the phone lazy if you like, but not anymore, saves on that heavy bag to lug around.
Will not totally abandon the big camera, as you know the Lens are tops for other things.
The Man at work sign could be presenting you doing an editing job of the curved treatment ..... I like the soft pastel colours of this building. All good Sami !!

Well, there are things one can't do with phone camera, but all camera's have their limits.

But then there are things one can do only with a phone camera. For example I could not take this photo with any other camera! =D
Abyss
Only my phone camera was slim enough to fit through the slit on the fence.

Well, of course endoscope would have been another option, but way too expensive...

P.S. the great thing especially on this phone camera of mine is that the lens is in the corner ;-)
