Jeremiad

Good news! Adobe Flash player is no longer required to play videos and embedded Deezer soundtracks on desktop computers and laptops. Thanks to Rob, HTML5 video tag is now used to run video and audio files.

However, PicMonkey still runs on old Flash based API. So, when editing images with PicMonkey, you still need to have and enable Adobe Flash. We hope to get that changed to HTML5 based version of PicMonkey during this year (2020).

Soundtrack Jeremiad by RinneRadio, a group of electro jazz pioneers from Finland.

"A jeremiad is a long literary work, usually in prose, but sometimes in verse, in which the author bitterly laments the state of society and its morals in a serious tone of sustained invective, and always contains a prophecy of society's imminent downfall."
~Wikipedia

UPDATE: Another version added on PiP. Looks like I fail to follow even my own suggestions, and did not dare to make the contrasts extreme enough =D

UPDATE January 5, 2020: Now that Adobe Flash is no longer needed to open Deezer audio player, you can enjoy this wonderful track by Rinneradio. If you can play only a short sample, then consider opening a free Deezer account and login to it on another tab. Although, I am not sure how it is supposed to work on each and every soundtrack.

The PiP is the really striking one! Yes, the details in the darkest and lightest parts have disappeared but this is what the challenge is about:-) You might have given more space on the right side of the photo to show a bit more of the the shadows.

Great use of perspective and a superb image, Sami. I do very much like the stronger graphic feel to the one in PiP.

It is fascinating seeing the two alongside each other to experience how the character changes with the treatment of the contrast. I think I also prefer the grittier, more intimidating even, urban sense of the PiP which works well for the subject
