"Stolpersteine" (Stumble-Over-Stones) are a project by the german artist Gunter Demnig. He startet a couple of years ago to put these stones with the names of people who were murdered in course of the national socialist regime in front of their respective former homes. So now you can these stones in a lot of german cities, whereever there are people who order a stone to commemorate holocaust and other Nazi victims. Whenever I go to fetch our grocery I stumble over these stones.
