Thanks! My favorite type of photographing - going about my day and discovering art gems amongst the world I pass through.

A post-modern aesthetic where the art/expression of the street is superimposed on the dilapidated remains of the previous century. Your rendition of colors and textures is particularly expressive and quasi-abstract, Laura.
Have a great week.

raingirl replied to Eric Desjours:

Thank you so much, Eric. You calling it "quasi-abstract" pleases me a lot! It is what I try to do.

We stop seeing as we move through our daily lives. When we travel or go someplace new our eyes open again, but I try to open our eyes back up in our "regular" day to day.

Admirable et excellemment partagée. Un rendu très artistique et bien enjolivé et mis en évidence avec ces belles couleurs.
Bonne et agréable semaine salutaire.

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it that much. It is what pleases me the most, finding art in unexpected places.

That’s the art of today ! You’ll find it everywhere all around the world. Very powerful, very common !

raingirl replied to Ulrich John:

It is indeed. I do try and find the art amongst the art - no one person created the colors and marks in my photo.

I'm considering pairing this with a photo I have of curling leaves.

Super cool work of art and a super cool photo of it!

raingirl replied to Edna Edenkoben:

Thank you! I rarely take a photo of graffiti art in its completel state. More, like in this one, I find art amongst the bits and pieces of many people's markings.

It's my world version of the art I'm trying to create called 'translations' where I find art inside other people's photographs (with their permission). In this world version, I don't need to get permission!

Eric Desjours replied to raingirl:

You are absolutely right, Laura. The daily grind, often with our eyes glued to our smartphones - especially in cities - puts blinkers on us that we end up not being aware of!
