Now what ....

A neighbor from across the street came over while I was butterfly searching -

He asked "do you like zucchini?"
Of course , said I ..

And he asked, "would you like a Vietnamese zucchini from the garden?"
Yes .. would love it.. a small one, please ..

This is what he carried over ..
It is heavy ..
Only direction .. wash and peel ..

Have checked You Tube and Food Sites ..

More confused now than when I started ..

Help !

Suggestions welcomed !!!!

I wish I could help. Perhaps carve it like a pumpkin?

Peggy C replied to Smiley Derleth:

Well, cut about 3 inches off the top - peeled with vegetable peeler - cut into med. size squares -
Added onion pieces .. about same size -
Microwaved it til the squash was almost fork-tender -
Poured off liquid -
Seasoned it all -
Sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese and dotted with butter -
Into the toaster over it went until Parm and butter melted. -

Got a bunch left that is in fridge -
Think it will make a path to the garbage can -

OMY never saw one like these before !! You could share it with all members of your family or neighborhood !!

Peggy C replied to Marie-claire Gallet:

A good thought to share, but most of the neighborhood has already been 'gifted' with these large squash vegetables !
My family feels as do i -- it is so-so .... nothing spectacular at all - other than it is huge !

I've seen them in the shops, although not in spain come to think of it, but if it's as bland as courgettes (zucchini to you), there's not much you can do to make it interesting. With courgettes, I bung them in my ratatouille, or occasionallr fry lengthwise-cut slices in olive oil until the edges crisp up, with chopped garlic added near the end ... but not sure about this! It's probably too late now anyway!
