RIP

Please, see Czesław Wojtkowski's photos on Ipernity.

-----
My Dad was fading away.
He was taken to hospital on Thursday, December 6.
On Friday he was still responsive and prognosis was good.
Not anymore...
On Sunday I felt that he was there inside himself, listening to me but not willing to wake up.
No change on Monday.
Tuesday: he's been stabilized. His vital signals are better. He opens his eyes again.
Wednesday / Thursday: little progress - he managed to swallow three spoonfuls of soup.
Friday / Saturday: some progress, some new problems...
Monday: we are close to futile medical care.
Wednesday: he is a fighter.

I do not know why I misfocused this shot so miserably.
It would be a great portrait of my Dad if I didn't.

A sad day, indeed.
Even out of focus, this is a treasured image.

I like this photo. It is very intense. Sometimes a fine photo work is not so important.

Thank you so much for your kind words.
Today I asked him to wait and be with us on his birthday (he'll be 92 on Wednesday).
He kept his eyes shut tight but I noticed a glimpse of smile around his mouth. Maybe...

Sorry to hear about your dad. His character is shining through your picture to us Ipernity members even though we have not met him. This is the most important thing a portrait should do.

Thank you so much, my friends, for all your warm comments and condolences. And forgive me returning so late to acknowledge them.
I saw them and each and every one of them helped me a lot to deal with my loss.
