Cadiz, city of many a fence - HFF
The old city of Cadiz is literally a city on an island, attached by a sand spit and road to the Isla de León and the mainland. There are two other roads from the sprawl of modern Cadiz on other islands with bridges across the bay. I crossed on the passenger ferry from Puerto Real.
Tavira Tower in central Cadiz, built in the 1700s as an observation tower, these days houses a camera obscura. From the top of the tower there are 360 degree views of the city and surrounding waters. The viewing room for the camera is a floor below the roof, with exhibitions on lower floors.
From left;
PiP 1 - Cadiz cathedral
PiP 2 - The new bridge
PiP 3 - The lighthouse and entrance to the ferry terminal
PiP 4 - Camera obscura housing
PiP 5 - Close up of the lens (and dirt!)
HFF everyone, stay well and enjoy the weekend.
