Refraction

Trying out stuff on the tabletop again using natural light.. I think this turned out OK for a first try. There's another example in the PiP. You'll notice the PiP is much brighter.......but that only increased the reflections in the glass.

Notes to self for next time: figure out a way to control the reflections on the glass, let the air bubbles in the water settle down before taking the photo, make sure the glasses are cleaner!

Gegen die Reflexionen auf dem Glas könntest Du einen Polfilter verwenden. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarizer

Keith Burton replied to bonsai59:

You're a genius Frank..............I actually have polarising filters and it never occurred to me to use one with my tabletop photography. Thank you so much for the advice!

Keith Burton replied to Günter Klaus:

Thanks Güni..............I'm discovering that tabletop photography is very relaxing. Even when the photos don't turn out as well as I would have liked it's still fun trying.

A superb thought process to even think of this Keith!
The main image works best for me, and a few bubbles do nothing to detract from the quality of the shot,
A terrific and interesting shot!

I can't claim the credit for the idea Roger............there's lots of similar stuff about. I'm really glad you like the results though. Thank you for being so kind.

Reading your notes, you must be a perfectionist Keith! I actually like the water bubbles. Both pictures are excellent in my opinion. I keep going from one to the other and conclude that I like them equally. A good idea and great work!

Have a good new week Keith. Rather cold here today!
