This lovely old building is a former military barracks, built in 1846, and Grade II listed. It was decommissioned in 1969 and is now used by Portsmouth University. It also houses the Portsmouth Register Office.

Here is a link for those interested in this sort of thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milldam_Barracks

Happy Fence Friday to you all. I hope you have a splendid and safe weekend, whatever you're doing.

These buildings look solid and well worth conserving! Nothing overly fancy but very pleasing to the eye. HFF, Keith, have a good and safe weekend!

A beautiful and substantial building with a lovely sky both very well captured Keith, we had a building just like this which was originally a hospital but vandels from the local council allowed it to be demolished. the site is now a low cost supermarket. Thank you for the interesting link!
Wish you HFF and great weekend.
