Green Canopy

Taken yesterday during a visit to Mottisfont House and Gardens, a National Trust property near Romsey in Hampshire. This was part of the river walk along a section of the River Test that runs through the estate. It was quite busy and impossible to take a wide shot without people in it, so I decided to concentrate on the detail instead.

It looks idyllic Keith. The light, shade and colours are gorgeous, as are the gentle reflections in the water. So often a detail shot is just as beautiful as the wider picture. The branches seem to be reaching for a drink! Take care and have a good Tuesday.

Being the first day of Autumn the detail still looks bright, fresh and green, I do like the blue reflection from the sky in the water, otherwise I might not have noticed then water was there.

This is beautiful! with the reflections and various shades of green What a pity it was so crowded. I once visited Mottisfont when the roses were in bloom, the scent was overwhelming.

Thank you all for your kind and generous comments! This was probably my favourite shot of the day, so I'm doubly pleased so many of you like it as well.
