Sailing Boat

West Wittering again...........I'm certainly getting my moneys worth from this place. I've hardly taken any photos since I went there to be honest - the weather is so grey and miserable.

This one was actually taken in brilliant sunshine, but it was so bright and the sky was so featureless that I felt mono was the way to go.

It looks better viewed large, on black. Thanks.

Wow. Keith, this really does shine at full size against black. It's just marvelous! The subtle shades of grey, the fine detail, the mood...it's all really fantastic. The sailboat and the group of people make such fine focal points to roam back and forth on. This is the kind of picture that would look perfect in a gallery or museum where you can just stand and stare for a while to drink in all of the details. I love it. I am SUCH your biggest fan. Ok, well, I'm happy to SHOVE my way into the milling hoard of swooning fans! :D

Regarding the comments on my frosty leaves and insets...
I really like those small but vibrantly coloured leaves - dusted beautifully in an icy coating! I especially like the background.................the out of focus leaf looks like it's encrusted with tiny jewels. Well seen and taken Janet.
That comment has reduced me to a purring ball of fluff rolling in the sun spot. *hugs* You so totally see what I do in a the high points of an image. EXACTLY! I love that so much. :) And thanks also for your comments about my insets too...yet again, you zeroed in on one of the pictures I really loved with its sugar-coating of frost like jewels and the cool bokeh behind. I so often find myself totally blown away by what I find on my computer...I mean, when I take pictures I have an idea (usually) of what to expect. But so often there are surprises that totally delight me! Discovering these pictures is such a joy and feels like getting a present each time. :)

I like how you've spiced it up by adding the border. B&W is a really good choice for this, Keith - and those little floating people are like a mirage!

It's hard to imagine this in colour, bw looks so absolutely right! A timeless and peaceful scene enhanced by the inner frame.

I love your editing on this lovely picture Keith. The people stand out beautifully in colour and the light monotones are lovely. I've just read Susanne's comment....and I agree!
