Thanks everyone.................the in-flight shots were the ones that gave me the most trouble. These fat and not-in the-slightest aerodynamic little birds, go like little rockets..!!
Thanks Gudrun..................catching them in flight can be very frustrating and I generally get less "hits" than "misses". It's mostly a case of focusing where you think they might go and taking multiple shots. I did a lot of deleting :-))
I used a 40-150mm zoom lens with a 1.4 teleconverter which gives me a reach of around 210mm. (Around 420 in 35mm terms). This was taken at 210mm. The details show up on my page on the top right-hand side.
420mm equivalent is good:-) Since I have gone full format my tele is a bit short (70-200 with 1,4 converter-280mm() but a longer lens is just too heavy...
