Eight Days a Week!

This week in SSC:

"Music"

When I think of "music" my first thought is "The Beatles." I remember music from about the age of 4 when I was introduced to four lads from Liverpool by my 3 older teenage sisters. I don't remember my mom and dad playing much music but my sisters played The Beatles' music all the time in the early 60s and I was totally immersed in it. To this day whenever I hear a Beatles' song it makes me happy.

I think each one of these albums is the actual (American) original from my childhood (I have many newer albums too.) They belonged to my sisters and were passed on to me. I still get a kick out of how my sister corrected some of the information on one of them because, of course, she was the expert on everything "Beatles." :))

...and for Sight and Sound I'll choose this song because I love them "Eight Days a Week"

From their album "Beatles For Sale" (1964 U.K.) and "Beatles VI" (1965 USA)

The music of my youth. But I have to confess: my favorites have been the Rolling Stones. One reason was that it was easier to play their songs on stage ! :-)) !

A fantastic collection of the "Fantastic Four", Karen! I will never forget the first time I ever saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was 8 years old. I marveled at their very "long" hair and how all the girls in the audience were screaming their heads off! You could barely hear them sing! My mother was not impressed at all by them, so it wasn't until well into my adulthood that I grew to appreciate their contribution to music. An excellent photo in black and white!

Thanks, Val. I would have be 6 then and I remember it very vaguely. My sisters were probably screaming and crying during the whole show. :))

I remember some of those album covers from my older brother. I remember watching their first Ed Sullivan performance. I think North America stopped in its tracks that night.
