Butterbur.

A lovely lazy day. Switched the washing machine on. Did a bit of gardening. It was sunny but very cold so when some hail began to fall I retreated to the sofa. Bought yet more seeds which I am keen to start planting.
Phoned Margaret and we talked gardening for ages. She has a right of way through her huge garden and it's been made a core path so she is concerned about insurance. It's not clear who is responsible if people injure themselves.
Later I went back to Strath and the River Eden. The plan was to photograph flowers along the bank to make a collage. I did but liked the butterbur much better than the others. I think I'll keep going back. It's a nice little walk and very quiet. And I'd like to see the dippers again

I haven't seen any butterbur for quite a few years, Jean. It's so bold and beautiful. We went for a walk today in the sunshine before the skies darkened and we were hit with strong wind, hail and snow. Two hours later we sat outside on the patio drinking coffee. This afternoon we've had several snow showers but the snow hasn't settled. As I write it's started to snow heavily and it's beginning to settle. The vagaries of spring.

Another new flower for me...................it looks really lovely. I like the depth of field in this shot Jean.

We went for a walk around the Heath Pond in Petersfield this afternoon. Started off in beautiful sunshine and ended up with dark skies and freezing wind. By the time we drove home, we had sleet and hail. Expecting more frost tomorrow!

This is a new plant to me too Jean. I looked it up and it got its name from the large leaves being used to wrap butter in warm weather! I love your photo and focusing. It's very beautiful.
