Tintin's English Holiday is a complete blank for me! I bet the story is full of stereotypes! I did read and enjoy his other adventures as a child but don't recall this one. Perhaps it was thought to be too controversial to be sold in the UK!!!

This comic book was written in the 1940s. It was actually full of stereotypes about Scotland in particular (That's where the action takes place).
And it is precisely at the request and on the advice of the British partner of the publishing house, that Hergé redid all the illustrations more in line with the reality of Scotland at the time!!!!

Fantastic picture Nouchet! The red car is an excellent likeness of the Triumph Herald. (A man near where I live has a real one but it is a beige colour). You have created a great holiday scene.
