S.Cucufate II

The Roman villa surpasses in dimensions all the Roman "villae" in Portugal, and the real extent of the "pars rustica", which would extend to S., is still unknown. Unlike the remaining Roman civil architecture known in Portugal, which is articulated in Around peristyles, this "villa" develops in height, with a noble floor supported by vaulted galleries and the main porticoed facades flanked by projecting bodies. The closest parallels are the Roman Villas of Milreu (v. 0805020001), Pisões (v. 0205130012) and Rabaçal (v. 0614040006).
