Thanks Peter. Glad you like the image and don't have to like the subject. We usually come across them in little used garden things, as shown here, and in down pipes.

A great caapture, Graham. I recall hearing long ago that these were not reported until the mid-1800s when American timber ws imported, and that they could be a variant of the Black Widow spider.
