Murphys Creek railway PC192479

The Murphys Creek station building has been repurposed as a museum. The steam loco water tower is apparently remains here for its visual heritage appeal as it no longer functions. The level crossing works regularly for the passing rail freight, largely coal. Sometimes the crossing can be blocked for a while when a train stops in the loop siding to cross another going in the opposite direction along this single line route. The radio tower provides signals communication and a two-way radio system for the train crews to talk with train control. December 2019.

PS Just noticed a fence on the right and the left, HFF.

Railways WORK very hard to prevent trains crashing into trains or road vehicles.
