The first what I saw was the man in black, the scond this huuuge and very orange sign with its black arrow pointing exactly on that face that looks around the SUV's edge - and of course as well to the really different items on the left side ... last not least I wish to point out, that the sign at the upper right corner is in a complete contrast to the one in the middle of the picture. Glad not to be a car driver in Toronto.

John FitzGerald replied to Leon_Vienna:

Thanks for the observations, Leon. It's good to know how other people take it in. I saw the peeking face before the arrow, for some reason. And yes, you do not want to drive in Toronto any more than you can help. Luckily there is a subway.

Another interesting street shot John........I noticed the red sign with the black arrow first and then worked my way towards the edges!

John FitzGerald replied to Keith Burton:

Thanks, Keith. The conventiional wisdom has it that we read photos left to right (unless we use a right-to-left alphabet), but it's not being supported by your and Leon's approaches, or mine for that matter.

Keith Burton replied to John FitzGerald:

I think I tend to zoom in on a point of interest (wherever it is in the frame) first.
