St. Clair Ave. W., Toronto, at Caledonia Park Rd.

There's a fence in there so Happy Fence Friday, too.

I like the big version. Type Z to see if you do, too. Or not. It's not an order or anything, eh?

I'm a fan of pylons. Lots to see. I haven't had a coffee yet so guess what's catching my eye.

John FitzGerald replied to Jean:

There's a park under these pylons, Jean. You can walk a fair distance, inspect people's backyards, etc. A must for your next visit to Toronto. People here might be unacquainted with the term "pylon", though. Ask for the hydro towers.

A fence and everything else! There is exuberance about this, as well as just a smidgen of overkill. Lots of red and yellow accents, which, with the green trees, reflect the traffic lights quite effectively, if that's a good purpose. Otherwise, it's worth a grin.

John FitzGerald replied to rdhinmn:

Painting traffic lights yellow is a good purpose, Bob. Much more visible than black. They also create an attractive proscenium effect. The intersections on St. Clair have about two dozen yellow-painted traffic and pedestrian lights each.

Looking at this made my brain hurt! There is an amazing amount of "stuff" packed into the frame and it's all fighting for my attention!

It's the bright red bits that eventually hold my eye...........and the slim trees vying for attention with the pylons.

Chaotic............but oddly compelling! HFF John........I hope you have an enjoyable and safe weekend.

John FitzGerald replied to Keith Burton:

St. Clair West is one of my favourite streets, Keith. Lots to look at everywhere along it. Most of it is still a classic streetcar suburb from the 1910s and 1920s, so it's historically interesting, too. My judgment may be clouded, though, from having lived most of my long life somewhere along it.

All the best for the weekend to you, too.

John FitzGerald replied to Marko Novosel:

Thank you very much, Marko. I think you have unearthed another of my unconscious influences. As a child of the 60s I greatly admire Mr. Crumb.
