Ecobird replied to Pam J:

Many thanks Pam. Really appreciated. The building stands proudly on an island at the highest point and looks quite imposing even from the bottom of the street. It is a bit of a shame about the modern lock on this lovely old door though. Have a lovely evening

Severe but grand. The solid wall makes me laugh. At least they didn't feel they had to have two separate buildings. When I think of the Church of Scotland , the United Free Church and the Free Church it makes me feel religion divides people and "love thy neighbour" gets forgotten about.

Ecobird replied to Jean:

Thank you Jean. Really appreciated, Yes it made me smile too. I imagine it must have caused a bit of a stir at that time having two congregations in one building. You are right though - they do say that more wars fought over religion than anything else.

Wonderful doors somehow the little brass Yale lock looks so out of place, I notice the door handles are of differing levels to differentiate between Highland and Lowland sides I assume,
Great capture and a nice pip that sets the scene.
