On the way to Banff,
Banff is the largest town within Banff National Park in the Canadian province of Alberta.
Banff is located at an altitude of 1399 m in the Rocky Mountains, on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), on the Bow River.
The settlement has had small town status since 1990.

Tunnel Mountain Campground is the closest campground to the town of Banff. Due to its proximity to the town, Tunnel Mountain Campground has excellent access to the town via a year-round bus service. The campground is also close to several hiking and biking trails.
