Built as a fortress in the 17th century as part of a set of fortifications designed to protect the Portuguese coast during the Seven Years' War.
1959 was completely rebuilt and transformed into the Hotel do Guincho.
The spectacular setting overlooking the wonderful Guincho beach, Atlantic Ocean and Cabo da Roca, the most westerly tip of continental Europe, exposes the hotel to extraordinary natural beauty
