The Sunday Challenge: Christmas Traditions

A tradition we encounter where we live is the white elephant gift exchange. The idea is to bring something you no longer want, wrap it and put it under the tree. Individuals then come in a predetermined order to pick and open gifts. The hook comes when someone wants what you chose. It can be "stolen" twice during the gift opening. We got this at the last party where there was this type of exchange. It will be enjoying Christmas 2018 with another "lucky" chooser as we re-wrap it for next year's holiday season.

We have a similar game but played with two dice and everybody provides two parcels. If you get two numbers the same you are allowed to pick a parcel. Nobody opens the parcels until all are gone. When the parcels are all gone and opened the game starts again with a timer set to about 20 minutes. You can then pick any of the items from another player if you get a double. At the end of that time you keep the presents you have got. Everybody should have at least one present at the end.
