Lindisfarne, HFF.

The Priory on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, In 635AD Saint Aidan came from Iona and chose to found his monastery on the island of Lindisfarne.
Timing of a visit is recommended as the causeway is open from about three hours after high tide until two hours before the next high tide but this is only under normal circumstances. (See location map),

A beautiful shot of the priory. Years ago I did the St Cuthbert's Way and walked on the Pilgrim's Way across to the island.

Incredible ruins. I wonder how they built these marvels in the past since it is a tidal island. HFF Roger.
