When he designed the landscape gardens at Rousham, William Kent had a folly built in a field across the river. The statue of the Lion and Horse is by Peter Scheemakers (1691-1781).

In the first note a wide angle view of the same scene across the bowling green.
In the second note the (bad) copy of the classic Dying Gladiator on the Praeneste Terrace.

The first PiP is gorgeous..............there's no shortage of leading lines here and some very nice light too.
The second PiP.............is beautifully sharp and detailed, especially all the lichen on the statue.
Three cracking shots.............all very well captured Gudrun!
