Parque Provincial Aconcagua

The whole region's most famous park is Parque Provincial Aconcagua, home of 6962 m tall Cerro Aconcagua, the highest peak outside the Himalayas and a favorite climbing destination. Reaching the summit requires a commitment of at least 13 to 15 days, including acclimatization time. A part of Aconcagua is seen in the far background. The peak to the left is Agua Salada Norte (4375 m), the mountains to the right are above 5000 m. - scanned slide, Minolta X700

It would be marvellous to visit, though (at least it appears) it seems there are fairly few visitors.

Berny replied to tiabunna:

At that time in the year 2000 there were very very few. Don't know, if that has changed. If I look in the Internet for a location we visited in 2000, almost everywhere seem to be much more tourists now.

sieht abenteuerlich aus, sicher hat das Fahrzeug in der Höhe auch einige PS verloren.

Berny replied to Leo W:

Der hat schon so wenig PS, da fallt das auch nicht mehr auf ;-))) Das sind hier ca. 2900 m, aber wir fuhren danach noch auf ca. 3800 m rauf.
