Santiago de Cuba - City Hall

An unexpectable "new" building from 1950 (using plans from the 18h century), the place where Fidel Castro spoke for the first time to the population on January 1 of 1959, "Day of the Victory of the Revolution in Cuba", in a massive public act in that it’s confirmed the irreversible fact of the victory on the government of dictator Fulgencio Batista.

The view is from the roof terrace of Hotel Casa Granda!

It's an attractive building. Looks good but less grand and imposing than Victorian European equivalents. Much more appealing. Have a good weekend.

Das sicher ;-)) Auch bei meinen bisherigen Besuchen war weit mehr los. Obwohl die Coronakrise da gerade erst am Beginn war, klagten alle, dass es sehr wenig Touristen gibt. Einheimische sind allerdings auch keine da, wohl wegen der Hitze!
