Trophies

Human-animal relations, vast, vast problem. Pets, livestock (meat, milk, wool, etc.), working animals. I've chosen a photo to illustrate leisure animals.

Leisure activities that can be enjoyable (canicross, dog sled rides, etc.) or reveal man's most critical instincts, such as cruelty (bullfighting, dog fighting, etc.) or vanity (posing in front of the remains of an animal that has just been slaughtered, without forgetting to share the photo on social networks).

I have no criticism of traditional hunting or of the need to regulate populations of so-called harmful animals.

The photograph was taken at the home of a childhood friend.
Our deep friendship prevents us from broaching the subject. Each of us knows what the other is thinking.

I know how much you hate this kind of hunting and this kind of display ...

I'm in complete agreement with your sentiments and hate these types of trophies. That having been said, this is an excellent image technically and demonstrates a great friendship. Good work.

I've never understood the joy from killing animals for sport or displaying their heads. It is gruesome.

Very apt! I suspect most people these days share your opinion, I certainly do.

Sad to see trophies displayed. Culling may be necessary, and historically human nature has its way...
