An enigmatic couple, if indeed they are a couple.

A nicely timed and well focused street shot. I think she's telling him something he doesn't want to hear.

Idly wondering how long can long hair get? The way it just reaches the top of her hips. Blonde. What is that? Between gold and yellow. It’s all style. I write:

“The isolation of the couple in the pale deserted street draws the eye, as does his red bag. She seems to be telling him something. He’s listening carefully, looking a little downcast. Her stance is confident. He’s maybe a bit of a geek: she looks as though she will turn heads wherever she goes. Perhaps it’s time for him to accept that she’s moved on.”

It’s only a photograph: Monday June 9, 2014, unaffected by the passage of time. Roundstone Street. What was the round stone? Colour gives more information between gold and yellow. Time: the position of the observer relative to a suicide bomb in Iraq, a protest in São Paulo before the World Cup and this moment? England play Italy on Saturday. She’s still there, telling him. You know as you take it that this could be an interesting image. It must be time for a coffee, lunch. Is there a cafe over there?

The Limbo Connection replied to Steve Bucknell:

Two people on Roundstone Street
Tote Bags
Rust
Downpipes
Shadows
Hands on Hips
A shortage of Understanding

Words exchanged
Something Not Right
How long can long hair grow?
Simple answer:
I don’t know.

Years pass.
No sign
Except ROUNDSTONE STREET
Time slipping
Uncontrollably
Nothing standing in its way
Except shadows.

And then the whole scene shifts.
The reference points now blurred; the focus lost.
How do you pick up the thread
Or sort out what was left undone?

BECAUSE
We have left undone those things
which we ought to have done
And we have done those things
which we ought not to have done.

AND there is no health in us.

What’s it like when you’re gone?
Ask them
If you should chance to meet.
