Mute Swan Cygnets on one of the Cannop Ponds, which are a couple of miles north from us, though they are in the same valley through which runs the Cannop brook.

Cannop Brook then becomes the River Lyd somewhere near our village of Whitecroft (no one is sure exactly where), and it then joins the River Severn at Lydney.

I love Swans and used to look after some in Staffordshire, and have sorely missed seeing them since we moved to the forest.

Consequently I was overjoyed to see this breeding pair and their Cygnets
