Terrific composition Peter, It would have been great if you were able to get the next shot just as the wind was lifting the seed

Peter Castell replied to HappySnapper:

Actually the title is a lie they will stop like that for weeks :(( it's a rockery plant I will try to find the name, it reminded me of Cotton Grass as I wasn't able to go and see any this year

They look beautiful Peter. So they are a rockery plant! I wouldn't have known.
I love the bokeh background. We have just had a clap of thunder, electric out...and then soon back on and just about 15 minutes of steady rain! I wonder if we'll get any more!

Peter Castell replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

It's Dryas Mountain Avens it spreads but it's not invasive it has a nice white flower, I must have a photo somewhere, I've just Googled it and it's a shrub you can get plants or seed if you want some seed I'll stick a stamp on some. It was cool grey morning the rain arrived about lunch time but no thunder although it was thunder rain. I've started getting potatoes up the ground is bone dry

So lovely, Peter. I know them under the name of "linaigrette" (at least I think these are some of them), and I just saw that they are also called cotton grass (herbe à coton)...

Peter Castell replied to Christa1004:

This is Dryas Mountain Avens it's in my garden but I can't find a photo of the flowers, there are two photos of Cotton Grass on my page 34 it grows on moorland it looks wonderful if there is a big area, I don't know if it can be used as cotton
