I think my Tokina 35-70, purchased around 1985, which I also use on a Sony Alpha, is rather close to your Minolta. You make me think of using it again. Mine has a macro position which declutches the autofocus on my Alpha 300. I also have a Minolta 35-80, but this lens is not very good.

Mikeinlagardette replied to François Collard:

Bonjour François, how strange you should mention that lens! I had the exactly the same, but with a Contax mount on a Contax 137MD, around the same time, - a fine lens!

The Minolta 35-70 is also excellent, - despite being derided as a kit lens, it is very sharp, and can also be bought for less than€10 ! The Alpha 100 has an APS-C sensor, so the lens is like a mild telephoto, but good for close-ups without too much distortion.

Best, Mike
