Essential Business

Even as digital photography has become predominate, photo labs are still an essential business !!

This photo was taken by a Mamiya 645 Pro TL medium format film camera and Mamiya Macro A 1:4 f=120mm M lens with a Zenza Bronica 67mm SY48•2C(Y2) filter using CatLabs X film 80 120 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Although I admire my friends who process their own film, I am not yet ready to set up a home lab - Oscar's Photo Lab does a terrific job and I wish to support their business!

I still have the lab at home. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience of other times, and having discovered that I can do more or less the same thing digitally, I do digital.
I don’t have a lab near my house, so I have to settle for working with what I have.
I admire your photos, your comments and your patience. Thank you for sharing your work.

Whatever camera that is available is the best one to use, as can be demonstrated by your fascinating photo gallery!
My use of vintage film cameras is a hobby that pleases me. Learning about the equipment and science behind lenses, filters and film is very interesting. I take pride in the digital post-processing that renders each scanned photo that I post online. Photography can be an art form, regardless of what equipment and process that one uses.

Cool -- we are not (currently) doing film, but happy to know this is still there.
