The Rise and Fall of a Great Wall

A note to want-to-be kings and emperors: Even the Great Wall of China failed to keep the Huns out of the sacred homeland.

This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with a HOYA 82mm HMC Y[K2] filter using Adox CHS 100 II film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Although this fallen 'wall' may not be a fence by definition, such a Great Wall is now in news headlines this Happy Fence Friday (when a fence should surely suffice).

Excellent, mono brings out the shapes so well! Walls are never a solution- this year it's 30 years since the Berlin wall came down. It stood for only 28 which was 28 years too long....

Germans who lived on either side of the wall know about the reality of forced separation.
