The layers are clear to see, very frightening! Belated HFF, Laura, stay safe!

It was very weird to see and worse to experience once it all came in. Happily it is slowly eaking towards being better and has stopped getting worse in our area.

Thanks, Jaap. It's been a stressful weekend due to the smoke and fires, but okay.

Thanks. I managed to do a couple fun things in the house this weekend, but not really so great. Thanks for the wish of greatness.

Belted HFF. I've been reading about this. Sounds scary.

raingirl replied to Jean:

Thanks. It is very stressful. Our location is mostly laden with smoke. The fires are way closer than one wants. One good piece is that there's an outskirts from town city where one of the fires has come within 1/2 mile, but with the weather helping a bit they are managing to keep it that far away. I'm holding my breath a lot.

A really beautiful sky and I love the silhouetted fence Laura. I hope you're not in any danger - I've been following these awful fires on our news..!!

raingirl replied to Keith Burton:

We are definitely newsworthy. We are not in eminent danger. Our local outlying towns have been (sadly- about 160 kilometers south of here a lot has been destroyed) in danger, but our city is holding okay except for the air quality due to the smoke and the weather inversion.

They need to stop calling them wildfires and call them what they are, climage change fires. (Sorry, dont' mean to start a conversation about all that. I really try to not get into negative things here no ipernity - it's my respite from so much.)

It makes for a really nice "striped" sky, but ... it's a terrible mark of destruction! So stirring to see the landscape disappearing as the cloud overruns it. You are in our hearts.
