Dunstable Downs

Thank you very much to Herb for inviting me to join the 'UK Landscape Photography Group'.

It's gone midnight here, so it was yesterday afternoon that I decided to go to Dunstable Downs via the Whipsnade Tree Cathedral. When I arrived at the Tree Cathedral, I looked around the car and I couldn't see my camera bag! Started to panic a bit but then realised that I had been so pre-occupied with making a hot flask of coffee and finding an extra layer of clothing in case it was going to be cold that I didn't pick up the bag. Felt really stupid :-)

There wasn't really time to go back home but I did have my phone with me so the only option was to use the phone camera and this, thankfully, saved the day :-)

Will be doing a Check List before going out next time :-)

Thank goodness for the phone cameras, this would be hard to miss out on. Very striking cloud shapes and a grand tree, perfect. Thanks for your comment on my phone shot.

A lovely scene and a great sky. I find it reassuring that I'm not the only one with forgetfulness problems. :-)

Welcome to the group Roger. As Colin above says, the phone has proved a good replacement in an emergency. Very nice sky here and I always like to see a tree like this in the frame.

Best Wishes and thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Thanks very much for the welcome, Herb. I shall also make doubly sure that I have my phone with me in case I am daft enough to leave my camera behind again!
And, thank you for complimenting my photo, Herb.

The big sky is fantastic, a very well framed shot. No matter the camera what counts is the eye of the photographer!
Haha, I can relate to what happened, I also have been searching for things I left at home;-)
