Lonely Tree

Over the years must have gone past this scene several hundred times and always thought the lonely tree would make a good photo opportunity. It is only some 8 miles from home. In fact many moons ago I did take the occasional photo here. On 20 April this year I was taken with the yellow foreground and the cloud formation. Nearby there is a parking space for two or three cars and it was empty! I stopped and took several dozen photos.....as you would!

Also, made me think of "Only the Lonely" by Roy Orbison.

A perfect day to decide to capture this lonely tree in that glorious field of gold Roger. I love the sky with the lovely fluffy little clouds, - a peaceful and beautiful scene. Love the music - you cannot go wrong with the Big O.

Have a good week ahead

Dramatic colours, Roger Rapeseed fields always look so jolly in late April and the beginning of May, but deteriorate rapidly when they've gone to seed.

Roger! I'm so happy to see you again. I haven't been posting here since the new year and just stopped in to see if I still had a valid account LOL.

What a lovely springtime image this is. The bright yellow is so pretty. It's so cold here still and not much is growing yet. I think we're stuck in a cold snap.

This is one of my favorite songs by Roy Orbison. :)

Roger Bennion replied to Karen's Place:

Hi Karen. Brilliant and lovely to hear from you and thanks so much for complimenting my photo. Sorry you're stuck in a cold snap. Makes me appreciate the weather here 'cos it is almost warm enough to discard my winter clothes! I did look at your photo pages and realised you hadn't posted since the new year and wondered if you were okay. When I decided to start posting again I realised my membership doesn't expire until 2024! Helen is still not dealing with the loss of her limb and I am pretty much her full-time carer. But, I need another interest and will be continuing to post to ipernity albeit there will be times when I will take days away. Hope you are okay, Karen and if want to exchange messages via my personal email address that is more than acceptable!

A wonderful sky and the lone tree behind a vibrant foreground makes this a compelling view and your low angle on the oilseed rape gives the image nice depth, A superb capture Roger
