Sundown on East Lomond.

Not quite the day I expected to have but nice. I meant to clean the bathroom but delayed because the bath is still not draining properly and a plunger, a drain cleaning brush and liquid drain cleaner were being delivered. Got on with clearing up the garden much to Beaky's delight. I couldn't clear far and fast enough for him. I took photos and am now fairly sure Beaky is a male. Looking down on a robin the peak of the female's head forms a V-shape whilst the males is a softened U- shape.
Came in just as my drain stuff was arriving and saw Andy cleaning his car so went over to ask him to do mine next weekend. Ended up going for a coffee which I shouldn't have. I feel mildly guilty. We sat at least two metres apart and at right angles but that's no excuse. It was lovely to chat though and have a grump and a laugh.
Afterwards I tackled the drain problem. The cleaning brush did nothing so the problem isn't hair though the brush will be useful for that in the future. The plunger helped but didn't clear the blockage completely. I thought the drain cleaner had done the trick but not quite so the bath is having a second dose overnight and hopefully this will solve things completely.
Went for a walk and got a photo of the sun setting behind the S plantation then settled on the sofa to eat seaweed crisps. Venison casserole for dinner. Yum !

I love that beautiful tobacco-coloured sky Jean.............and the sharp and clean silhouettes. Just gorgeous :-)

I hope you get your plumbing problems sorted. It can get really expensive if you have to call someone out.

I put my car in for it's annual service and MOT this morning...........it will be a stressful day waiting to see how it goes. I'm still miffed that I bought it in Feb last year and I've hardly been able to use it since (a burst appendix and then into a Covid-19 pandemic) :-)))

You have captured the sky at just the right time Jean. I love the warm colours as the sun goes down. The silhouette is lovely.

I hope you do solve the bath draining problem. My next door neighbour is a retired plumber...but that's not much use to you! :) I don't think you've done too much wrong having a coffee with your neighbour. My friend Georgina phoned me last night and we cannot wait to have a coffee together, and most importantly, a good chat! Take care.

Well I am glad your are writing your Diary again. I have learnt 2 things off you One about the Robin which I never knew so will be on a mission to catch one or two. Also Seaweed crisps never seen them so will be on the lookout for those.
Have a good week Jean & hope your plumbing job drains away soon ....!!!

The Seaweed crisps are made by a Scottish firm so maybe haven't got around much yet.

Jean replied to Andy Rodker:

I think they are fairly recent. These are made by a Scottish firm so maybe haven't reached Spain and who knows if they ever will.

Piper crisps with Anglesey Sea Salt is as close as I have got to the sea. I just looked up Seaweed crisps and it mentioned Tapioca coating is that what you are eating ? (Apologies if you have explained this elsewhere ... now typing with no glasses)

The ones I buy are from a Scottish company called Shore. The main ingredient other than kelp is quinoa.
