Community battery

The massive fires of 2019 left the small community of Mallacoota isolated and all but the firefighters needing to be rescued by Navy ships. The fires also highlighted the vulnerability of the power supply, with blackouts common as the township is at the end of a 240km power line through bushland. As a consequence, this 1 MWh community battery with a back-up generator has been installed since the fires. This was taken through the fence surrounding it.

Happy Fence Friday and have a good weekend, everyone.

That is some back up system George. It must have given the residents some peace of mind having it installed. Funny how the power is something you take for granted until you lose it. There has been talk of potential planned power cuts over here unfortunately.

HFF and have a good weekend

A very sensible decision as long as there is a good firebreak around it.
