Thomas Thorp`s Observatory.

In 1912 at the Uplands Prestatyn, Thorp engineer and inventor of the gas coin operated gas meter. Built a revolving observatory and the teiescope was his own design, after the outbreak of WW1 it was sealed up because of fears it could be used to signal U-Boat of the welsh coast.
