The Cuckoo

Cuckoos can be seen throughout the UK, but are especially numerous in southern and central England. Adults arrive in late March or April and depart in July or August, with young birds leaving a month or so later.

Not quite the first cuckoo in Spring but not far off. A nice catch here with the nesting material in readiness. I love to hear the plaintive call of these birds but hate the fact that they hijack another nesting bird to nurture the young chick as their own.

Have a good day. Herb
