Well... in the later 1960s you could !... but of course it is all proportional.. to ones' income at the time...
Here is a London Motor show review booklet from 1967
Showing the current model.... 'Porsche 912' at £2.428 ..
and the 911S at £3.556. including tax.

Aah yes Isabel... how cool that would have been.. cruising around in the Porto' sunshine.. sadly lower insurance costs come with getting older.. I have a Leon Cupra' 300 which I couldn't afford to insure if I was a high risk youth...// Cheers from David J'...
