Walchensee
Blick auf das "Klösterl" und die Alpen am Walchensee.
Die türkis-grüne Färbung des Sees stammt vom gelösten Kalziumkarbonat. Der Walchensee ist flächenmäßig nicht besonders groß. Er hat eine dreieckige Form mit jeweils einer Kantenlänge von ca. 6 km und sein Wasserspiegel liegt auf einer Höhe von 800 m. Er ist mit 192 m Tiefe der zweittiefste See Deutschlands. Sein Wasservolumen beträgt 1,3 km³. Damit hat er fast das doppelte Volumen wie die Müritz.
