The Jubilee Clock ~ Weymouth

The Jubilee Clock Tower is a free-standing clock tower on the Esplanade of Weymouth, Dorset. It was built in 1888 to commemorate the Golden jubilee of Queen Victoria and became Grade II Listed in 1974. Historic England described the clock as being a "florid but characteristic enrichment to the sea-front" and "boldy coloured". It is built of cast and wrought-iron and set on a Portland stone base.

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Peter Castell:

Yes it's very colourful and recently restored Peter. There used to be a tramway along the quayside but just the tracks remain now unfortunately. No sparklers for me tonight :) Hope you enjoy yours!

Very reminiscent of Weymouth, many buildings have that Victorian touch to them, one of my favourite resorts.

I love the colours of the clock tower, Rosa. I love also the way the light strikes the facades of the tower. Cheers, Joe
